Publication Ethics

ETHICAL PRINCIPLES AND PUBLICATION POLICY

Authorship and Authors' Responsibilities

ASSOS Journal of Research in Humanities and Social Sciences accepts the manuscripts submitted to the journal for evaluation only through the system offered by the journal website. Manuscripts that are sent by mail, fax, e-mail, or other means are not taken into consideration.

Authors are obliged to submit their original (unpublished) works to the journal, to prepare their work in accordance with the format announced on the journal's website, and to submit all required documents (Copyright Transfer Form, Ethics Committee Approval Certificate, etc.) to the journal.

Authors should not submit works that have been previously published or whose peer-review process has begun on another platform.

Authors are obliged to cite any source that is effective or informative in shaping the ideas in their articles.

Authors should not use the information they are familiar with as referees in any article or scholarship evaluation process without permission.

If the authors want to mention the information obtained from personal communication in the study, they must have obtained the necessary permissions from the people to be mentioned, otherwise, this information should not be included in the study.

If the work is supported by an institution or organization within the scope of a project, all financial support should be written with the support numbers.

When an author notices a material error or inaccuracy in his published work, she/he must immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the article.

Authors should provide all authors' names, institutional information, contact addresses and ORCID information who contributed to the study completely and accurately, and in case of a change in this information, the journal authorities should be contacted as soon as possible.

Authors should disclose any potential conflict of interest to the ASSOS Journal of Research in Human and Social Sciences.

Ethical Permissions

The studies that require the permission of the Ethics Committee for the authors and some of the things to be done are listed below. For the studies to be carried out in this context, the information that permission has been obtained from the Ethics Committee should be stated in the article and a copy of the permission document should be uploaded to the journal system.

All kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from the participants by using surveys, interviews, focus group work, observation, experiment, interview techniques,

Using humans (including material/data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,

Retrospective studies in accordance with the personal data protection law,

Obtaining and specifying permission from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs belonging to others,

Indication of compliance with copyright regulations for the ideas and works of art used.

Peer-Review Process

Each manuscript submitted to ASSOS is subject to a double-blind peer-review process and editorial decision based on objective evaluation.

Each manuscript sent to ASSOS is evaluated by the editor in terms of compliance with the journal's publication policy and sent to two referees who are experts in their fields.

Editors are responsible for appointing reviewers who have no conflict of interest with the authors to evaluate the work.

Confidentiality is essential in the author-referee and referee-author processes of the manuscripts submitted to the journal.

The journal operates a double-blind peer-review process to handle conflicts of interest in peer reviews fairly. In this way, the reviewers and authors will not be aware of each other during and after the evaluation process. The field editor, who monitors the management of the process, is responsible for informing the editor in cases of conflict of interest and requesting that the relevant work be directed to another field editor.

The authors are obliged to make the requested updates and report them in a numbered format in line with the feedback of the referees, in cooperation with the referees or editors, and in a way that does not allow any delay.

Publication Ethics

Editors are responsible for enhancing the scientific quality of the journal and supporting authors to produce research of high scientific quality. Under no circumstances is plagiarism or scientific abuse allowed.

Studies sent to ASSOS are checked for plagiarism. Editors may withdraw the article if they become aware of alleged or proven scientific misuse.

Editors agree to correct, withdraw, or issue an apology for the submitted work when necessary.

ASSOS uses the open-access model. Studies accepted to be published in the journal have been made accessible via open access on the journal's website.

No fee or expense is requested for the studies to be published and published on the website of the journal.

Authors should strictly avoid the following actions that are known to violate scientific research and publication ethics:

Plagiarism: To present someone else’s work or ideas as your own by incorporating them into your work without full acknowledgement,

Fraud: To use data that does not actually exist or that has been falsified in scientific research,

Distortion: To manipulate research materials, equipment, or processes, or to change or omit data or results such that the research is not accurately represented in the research record, to falsify or shape the research results in line with the interests of the people and institutions that support the study,

Republishing: To presenting duplicate publications as separate publications for academic appointments and promotions,

Slicing: To present the results of research as separate publications in academic appointments and promotions by disaggregating the results of research in a way that violates the integrity of the research and publishing it in more than one issue,

Unfair authorship: To include people who do not have active contributions among the authors or not to include those who do, to change the order of authors in an unjustified and inappropriate way, to remove the names of those who have actively contributed to the study from the work in subsequent editions, to use force and influence to get your name among the authors,

Not to specify the people, institutions or organizations and their contributions in the publications have contributed to the conduct of the study,

To Use the thesis or studies that have not yet been presented or defended and accepted as a source without the permission of the owner,

Failure to comply with ethical rules in research on humans and animals, not respecting patient rights in the publications, harming animal health and ecological balance, not obtaining necessary permissions,

To misuse the resources, places, facilities, and devices provided or allocated for scientific research,

To make false or misleading statements regarding scientific research and publications in academic appointments and promotions.

Copyright and Access

The authors acknowledge that they have transferred the copyrights of the published articles to ASSOS.

It is the author's responsibility to obtain permission from the necessary persons or institutions for supporting materials such as pictures and figures that should be included in the article.

Schedule

ASSOS is published twice a year, in December and June.
